  You’re sitting having breakfast, and you semi-conciously study the packets on the table: ingredients, recipes … it must have been in a moment like this that I had the idea to illustrate the evanescence of time through best before dates.

The result is a low-calorie, tear-off calendar for the whole year, combined with an enrichment of the daily visual diet: cheese days, juice days, crisps days …

At the time, many people feared that the millennium would blow up in their faces, and that the world as we knew it was ending. That certainly had an influence on my work, as did my constant joy at the little absurdities and beauties of every-day life.

Eventually, I would like to produce an international edition, with products from all of the European member states …

 

One of the wittiest and wisest contributions to our transition into the year 2000: a satirical objection against the turn of the millennium pathos.

Not only is this calendar fun to look at, it is fun to hold in your hands and flip through the deck of cards. It is kind of like a guessing game for the viewer.
