I designed this poster originally as a supplement for the German science magazine ZeitWissen. It shows the aesthetic and functional variety of all kinds of measurements.
Strength, time, rhythm, size, temperature, weight … so much can be measured: in degrees, feet, litres, points, ounces … but there is no scale with which to measure the quality of design.
In the course of research for this work, it became clear to me that digital measurement has found its way into almost every sector – even for the verification of blood alcohol levels by the police. By some measure, this made my poster historic in the present day.
